Bodi District Assembly Holds First Quarter Management Meeting
The Bodi District Assembly held its first quarter management meeting on 15th April 2026 at the Office of the District Chief Executive to review departmental activities, assess development progress, and discuss key challenges affecting the district.
During the meeting, various departments presented reports on projects and programmes undertaken in the first quarter of the year. The Works Department highlighted progress on classroom blocks, road reshaping, water projects, street lighting installations, and school furniture supply across several communities.
The Health Directorate reported on major health interventions, including cervical cancer screening, tuberculosis awareness and screening exercises, health staff training, and preparations toward the launch of free primary healthcare services in the district. The Directorate also announced upcoming malaria sensitisation activities.
The Education Directorate presented achievements in academics and sports, including the district’s success in quiz and regional sports competitions. However, concerns were raised about the teacher deficit, inadequate school furniture, abandoned projects, and examination malpractice.
The Social Welfare Department updated management on disability support services, child protection cases, and the LEAP programme, while NADMO reported ongoing public education on disaster prevention, flood mapping, clean-up exercises, and emergency preparedness activities.
The Ghana Immigration Service also briefed management on efforts to address the influx of undocumented foreigners and irregular migration within the district.
Management discussions focused on improving public service delivery, strengthening collaboration among departments, addressing infrastructure challenges, and promoting community sensitisation on issues such as health, disaster prevention, illegal mining, and environmental sanitation.
The District Chief Executive commended all departments for their efforts and reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote the development and welfare of the district.
